Received postcard today June 2011: Hello Folks, What a lovely place the Old Stables is, like a Diamond in the mud. Everything we could have wanted or needed was catered for. Loved our stay, thank you.
Kev & Jane Birch.' Cateran Trailer.' Heywood Lancashire.
From a guests own website. He had walked the Cateran Trail
Alyth is a very interesting old village. The lady whose house we stayed in that night had written a short history
linked to a guided walk round the village which was spot on for strangers with limited time and energy to explore.
The bedroom we were given was utterly luxurious with an en suite bathroom. Just right for soaking
away the aches and pains of the walk and so much nicer than a mere shower!
Our hostess and local historian, Mrs Eileen McBain, provided us with a hearty breakfast
(almost more than we could handle) to set us on our way the following day.
........................
What their email said -Thanks for the pictures! We had a wonderful time. Thank you for your kindness, and
for making hiking/traveling
with two 2-year olds a bit easier. You made us feel so comfortable in Alyth. We did get soaked in the
rain on that last day of hiking, leaving Alyth. We took a taxi for the last 6 miles from Bridge of Cally to
Blairgowrie - but after walking 58 miles, we felt we had earned it!
Best,
Andre and Scilla Gilbert
